6:05 p.m.: two men arrested on suspicion of insurance fraud
By Jason Pesick Investigators with the San Bernardino County territory Attorney's business office have made two arrests in offprint auto insurance fraud cases. On Fri, investigators arrested 31-year-old Fontana resident Luis Contreras after he surrendered, according to a territory Attorney's news release. Officials believe he submitted fraudulent reception with his insurance company when filing a claim for a tractor that was stolen but later recovered in damaged condition in 2007. The reception were for new tires worth about $4,000 he said he purchased for the tractor. He was booked at the West vale Detention centre in Rancho Cucamonga on intuition of insurance fraud. Investigators also arrested Ruben Perez, 24 of riverbank, on intuition of auto insurance fraud. Perez surrendered to investigators Aug. 5 and was booked at the telephone exchange Detention centre in San Bernardino. Investigators say he had his 2000 Chevy Tahoe stolen to collect the insurance money. complaint have been filed in both cases, and arraignment dates are pending.
